Weber pellet BBQs and smokers use wood pellets for heat and smoke flavour while an electronic controller manages temperature. The range includes Searwood 600 and XL 600 for versatile smoke-to-sear cooking, plus Smoque and Smoque XL for customers whose priority is low-and-slow smoking, baking and roasting.
Searwood is Weber’s more versatile pellet barbecue. Its 80°C to 315°C temperature range supports low-temperature smoking, roasting and high-heat searing. DirectFlame technology and a full-grill sear zone are useful for customers who want one pellet appliance to handle brisket one day and steaks or burgers the next. The XL 600 provides more capacity than the standard 600.
Smoque is built around smoking first. Weber specifies an 80°C to 260°C range for low-and-slow barbecue, baking and roasting, with remote monitoring and control available through the Weber Connect app. Smoque XL keeps the same smoker-led approach while increasing cooking room.
Both families require dry pellet storage, electrical power and routine grease and ash maintenance. The standard versus XL choice should reflect normal cooking quantities and available patio space rather than occasional maximum demand.
Choose Searwood when searing and all-round pellet cooking are priorities; choose Smoque for a dedicated smoke-led setup. Standard models suit smaller household cooks and tighter patios, while XL versions provide more room for larger batches. Keep pellets dry and check clearance for the hopper, lid and service access before positioning the barbecue.
