Firewood choice affects lighting, heat output, burn duration and how easily fuel fits the appliance. Alfresco Outdoors & Heating's genuine range includes 13 fuel products: a 15kg mixed-hardwood bag, mixed-hardwood loads, cooking double-split firewood and Queensland ironbark-and-box loads. The bulk ranges are represented in one-, two-, four- and six-load quantities.

Mixed hardwood is the general-purpose option for compatible wood heaters and outdoor fires. Cooking double-split firewood is cut into smaller pieces intended to be easier to arrange and control in wood-fired ovens and cooking appliances. Queensland ironbark and box provides a named dense-hardwood blend for customers who prefer those fuel species. Always follow the appliance manufacturer's fuel and maximum-log guidance.

Choose quantity only after confirming what a load means, the available storage volume and whether the delivery vehicle can access the property. Bulk firewood should be stacked off the ground in a dry, well-ventilated location with weather protection above and airflow around the sides. Do not store combustible fuel against the operating heater, flue or another ignition source.

Use dry, seasoned wood and avoid treated, painted or contaminated timber. Smaller pieces help establish a fire, while larger suitable pieces generally support a longer burn. Operation, clearances and permitted fuels vary across heaters, fireplaces and outdoor fire pits, so use the product manual and local fire restrictions rather than generic assumptions.
