Gas fireplaces can look similar on a showroom wall while requiring completely different installations. Alfresco Outdoors & Heating carries gas inserts, zero-clearance fireplaces, linear gas fires, see-through models and freestanding gas heaters, with Lopi strongly represented alongside Coonara and Real Flame.

Lopi's current Alfresco range includes wide linear models such as the 6015 HO GS2, 4415 HO GS2 and 3615 HO GS2, ProBuilder fireplaces, 864-series models, the DVL insert and freestanding Cypress and Greenfield gas fireplaces. Inserts are intended for suitable existing masonry fireplace openings, while zero-clearance and linear models are planned into a framed fireplace structure. See-through products such as the 4415ST require an architectural layout designed around views from two sides rather than a conventional single-front wall.

Coonara provides another mix of freestanding and inbuilt gas heating, including Hermitage, Barossa, Clear View and Mossman products. Real Flame adds further fireplace formats and contemporary styling. Across these brands, natural gas and LPG availability varies by model and must be confirmed before ordering.

The first decision should therefore be installation type, not flame appearance. Measure an existing opening accurately if an insert is being considered, or establish framing and flue requirements early for a new build. Then compare heating-area guidance, viewing size, gas type and control options.
